A doddle of a job

Keith Hudson

George W. Bush said yesterday that being president of America “is not a hard job”. It certainly wasn’t in his case. He just did as Cheney and Powell/Rice and Rumsfeld/Gates told him.  He never read newspapers and went to bed at 9.00pm.  A doddle of a job.

Clunky China

Keith Hudson

A brief addendum to my previous posting will do here — that even China is discovering that its sales of consumer goods to those who can afford them in the Third World has now largely stabilised and is thus perforce easing back.  It’s nothing to do with their supposed deep difficulties with their financial system.  China knows it better than the back of its hand because it first discovered the perils of paper currencies when it last tried them 1,000 years ago.   In such a big country, financial control is a bit clunky, that’s all.
